Programme Overview

This Project Finance Bootcamp is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of project finance, including the key principles, practices, and strategies involved. The bootcamp covers three essential components of project finance: project finance modeling, finance fundamentals, and legal fundamentals.

Legal Fundamentals of Project Finance: In the legal fundamentals’ component, participants will gain an understanding of the legal aspects of project finance, including contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. They will also learn about the role of the various legal and regulatory bodies in project finance and how to navigate the legal complexities involved.

Finance Fundamentals of Project Finance: In the finance fundamentals component, participants will gain an understanding of the financial and economic aspects of project finance, including project finance structuring, contract negotiation, and risk management. They will also learn how to analyze project economics and evaluate project feasibility.

Project Finance Modeling: Participants will learn how to develop financial models for projects and analyze project risk, including the assessment of cash flows, discount rates, and sensitivities. They will also gain hands-on experience in creating project finance models using financial modeling software.

As an Associate Chartered Accountant, Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst, Promise brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the table. He has delivered a series of project finance and financial modeling solutions across various industries, showcasing his versatility and adaptability.

Promise is deeply committed to sustainability, infrastructure, and development finance. He is focused on providing innovative solutions that align with these values and make a positive impact on communities and the environment. His most recent high-net-worth project finance modeling and advisory were delivered for Utilita Energy and Tourba Energy (a Sierra Leonean Energy Company).

He has a strong focus on projects in the sustainability, infrastructure, and development finance sectors, and is deeply passionate about preparing professionals for the future of work.

Victoria is a Senior Analyst in the Syndications unit at Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), a leading multilateral finance institution in Africa, where she helps mobilize funding from third party sources and successfully distributes the firm's assets through the primary or secondary market. She has over 3 years work experience working on project finance investment opportunities on the African continent and deploying innovative syndication products that have helped to mobilize billions of dollars into the African continent.

She graduated with First Class Honours in Economics from Covenant University and is a CFA Charter holder. She is a prolific writer and teacher on the fundamentals of project financing, having been part of the faculty at the Finance Professional Network (FPN) Academy where she was focused on teaching the fundamentals of project finance in the Academy. Okechukwu heads the energy practice group in G. Elias, a leading tier-1 business law firm in Nigeria. Okechukwu's practice focuses on electricity, oil and gas, project finance and dispute resolution. He has over the past 12 years advised public and private sector clients on large, significant and complex transactions in the electricity, oil and gas, finance and agricultural sector.

Okechukwu is recognised and ranked by leading international directory of lawyers including the IFLR, Legal 500 and Chambers Global as leading lawyer. He won the "rising star lawyer" of the year by the IFLR Africa Awards in 2021 and 40 under 40 lawyer award by ESQ legal awards.
